So — been using this thing for about a few months now and I keep coming back, so thought I'd write something up since someone asked me last week. I'm based in the UK, mostly do football and horses, nothing mad, for context.
How I found it was actually a bit daft — I couldn't ever figure out what an each way return actually came to when the place terms changed. I used to just eyeball it and moan when the payout landed. Now I stick my stake in first, every time, even a straight one-selection punt.
The single bet calculator tool is the one I use most — type in the price and your stake and it shows returns with no faffing, either odds format. It also handles the multiples — acca and treble maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, honestly that's where I'd always got it wrong. If you fancy a poke about, it's over at kelly criterion formula and it's free with no account nonsense.
What actually changed how I bet is the geekier extras. They've got an probability calculator that shows what margin's baked in, and there's the kelly criterion tool — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutching one gets used a fair bit when I'm splitting a race.
Couple of gripes. Its interface looks pretty plain — not much polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. Phone-wise it works though the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. There's nothing on the app store, just the site — slight shame but you asked.
Right, that's me. Doesn't cost anything, no ads shoved in your face, does the job. If you still works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — saved me a load of dumb bets I'd have regretted.
